My Personal Journey with Anxiety
My journey with anxiety began after leaving my job in 2019. Resulting in a constant sense of dread seemed to hang over me. I found myself burdened with a never-ending stream of worrisome thoughts. At that time, I lacked emotional intelligence, frequently suppressing my feelings and stifling self-expression. But this would change as I embarked on a path of self-discovery and healing.
Reiki Self-Treatment: A Turning Point
When I became a Reiki practitioner, I started the journey for myself. I had never received a Reiki treatment before, not even remotely. My first experience with a different energy healing took place via Zoom with a practitioner named Leigh. During our session, she spent about 20-30 minutes reading my energy field and chakras via video. Ultimately identifying a blocked throat chakra that had been with me since I was 12 years old. Despite the physical distance between us (I was in Mexico City, and she was in Aliso Viejo, California), this experience had a profound impact on my life.
It wasn’t a traditional Reiki session, but it opened the door to greater self-expression and communication. I found myself becoming less afraid to be my authentic self. This transformation marked a turning point in my life.
Embracing Energy Healing and Personal Growth
My journey continued as I delved deeper into the world of energy healing. I studied auras, chakras, meditation techniques, and the ability to perceive the auras of living beings. Despite these positive changes, I was still entangled in an unhealthy relationship that I repeatedly returned to, even though I was aware of its detrimental effects.
Over time, I came to understand that the compatibility of my self-relationship and my connection with that person was distorted. Their constant energy drain only served to amplify the anxiety that had originated from my departure from my job in 2019. In my search for solace, I turned to CBD oils and gummies as temporary remedies, acknowledging their impermanence. However, I realized that addressing the root cause of my anxiety was crucial, and that required transcending quick fixes.
I came to a profound realization: it wasn’t the person causing my anxiety, but my fear of the future with that person. My sense of safety in the present and the future was shrouded in uncertainty, leaving me feeling utterly lost. The future appeared hazy and unpredictable, and this ongoing uncertainty fueled my anxiety.
Becoming a Reiki Practitioner for Self-Healing
My path to self-healing led me to become a Reiki practitioner for my own well-being. In the first year of my practice, I channeled healing energy to everything and everyone around me. My senior parents, siblings, nephews and my niece, our tortoises, turtles, my sister’s houseplants, and my mom’s tomato garden all received the benefits of Reiki energy.
I was eager to share this newfound source of positivity and healing with every living being, and the response varied among my friends and family. Some embraced it wholeheartedly, while others were pleasantly surprised by its effects.
As I continued to immerse myself in the world of Reiki, my anxiety began to wane, replaced by a constant sense of positivity. A fresh perspective illuminated my outlook on the future, and I learned to fully embrace the present moment. I no longer dwelled on concerns about what lay ahead. I learned to trust the journey, letting go of worries and fears.

The antidote to anxiety lies in embracing the present and living in the moment. By placing trust in the creative forces of the universe, we can manifest our desires and dissolve the uncertainty that fuels our anxieties.
